The blessed month of Dhul-Hijjah holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide. It is during this sacred time that millions of Muslims gather in Mecca to perform Hajj, following the footsteps of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his family. This month is also marked by the act of Qurbani, a profound demonstration of faith and sacrifice.
Understanding the Significance of Qurbani
Qurbani, or Udhiyah, symbolises our readiness to make sacrifices in our lives and our commitment to supporting those in need. It is an act that not only honors a significant tradition but also provides essential support to our brothers and sisters who face hardship and hunger. By performing Qurbani, we reflect our devotion and compassion, extending a helping hand to those who need it most.
As the Quran reminds us:
“Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good.” (Quran 22:37)
Freedom Development Foundation’s Qurbani Project
This year, the Freedom Development Foundation (FDF) is proud to launch a Qurbani project aimed at extending the blessings of Eid al-Adha to families in Gambia and Tanzania. Our mission is to ensure that the spirit of Dhul-Hijjah reaches every corner of the globe, bringing joy and relief to those in need.
How Your Donation Makes a Difference
By supporting our Qurbani project, you can be a beacon of hope for families in Gambia and Tanzania. Your donation will help provide essential resources and support, ensuring that these families can celebrate Eid al-Adha with dignity and happiness. Here’s how your contribution can make a significant impact:
1.Provision of Meat: Your donation will provide fresh, halal meat to families who rarely have access to it. This not only ensures they have nutritious meals but also allows them to participate in the joyous celebrations of Eid al-Adha.
2.Economic Support: The Qurbani project helps boost local economies by sourcing animals from local farmers. This creates a ripple effect, supporting livelihoods and fostering economic stability in the region.
3.Community Empowerment: Beyond immediate relief, your support helps empower communities by promoting a sense of unity and collective well-being. When we support each other, we build stronger, more resilient communities.
“And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [Saying], ‘We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.'” (Quran 76:8-9)
