In The Gambia, many communities struggle to access affordable and nutritious food. Recognising this need, Freedom Development Foundation is taking a unique approach by baking bread and subsidising it at half the price, making it more accessible for these communities.

But this initiative doesn’t stop at just providing affordable bread. The money raised from selling this subsidised bread, along with generous donations, goes directly back into sustaining the breadmills that make it all possible. These breadmills are the heart of the initiative, ensuring that the communities can continue producing bread at a sustainable cost, making this project self-sufficient and ongoing.

The Impact of Subsidised Bread and Sustained Breadmills on Food Security:

By providing affordable bread now and continuously reinvesting in the breadmills, this initiative is making a lasting difference in The Gambia.
